Ryu means a mysterious creature that appears in myths and legends. The colors of copper and gold represent the power, value, and dignity of the dragon.

I expressed a bird playing by the water with one brush with gradation. The brush changes from water to blue, from blue to white, and from white to yellow. The paper conveys the color and shine of the bird playing by the water.

The old kanji for butterfly is made up of two parts: chou and ha. Chou means insect, and ha means swirl or rotation. This old kanji symbolizes the movement and shape of the butterfly. When I express it with a brush with gradation, I feel the change and beauty in my heart. The brush expresses the color, pattern, and light of the butterfly.

Me means the beginning or possibility of plant growth. The colors that image me are green, yellow, and white, which are related to vitality, hope, and innocence. These colors are, for me, the colors that express the freshness, shine, and dreams in me.

I created this work as a gift for a child who has the kanji of flower. Flower is a kanji that has many emotions and symbols, such as beauty, splendor, and joy. I think that a child who has the kanji of flower is an attractive, bright, and wonderful person like a flower.

Tsubaki is the name of an evergreen tree that has red, white, or pink flowers that bloom from winter to spring. Tsubaki has been cherished in Japan since ancient times, and is a symbol of beauty, purity, and nobility. The red that images tsubaki is the color of tsubaki flowers, but for me, it is the color that expresses the passion, vitality, and hope in tsubaki.

Hana is a kanji that means flower or beautiful thing. When I express the kanji of hana as a picture by placing two wheels side by side like flowers, I feel the splendor and beauty in my heart.

Tsuru is a kanji that represents a bird that has white or gray feathers, and a long neck and legs. Tsuru has been considered a lucky bird in Japan since ancient times, and is a symbol of longevity, peace, and happiness. The seal script of the kanji of tsuru is an ancient character that depicts the shape and features of the tsuru. The seal script is composed of curves, swirls, and dots, and has a pictorial beauty.
